Brief Instruction of Taipei Instruments Commercial Association
Preparatory work of the association was started from September of 1947. It was officially established on 22nd of February the following year with only 23 members. Now, after seventy three years, the number of members has increased to around 834 companies. It is now the largest instruments association in Taiwan.
The association is a non-governmental organization established according to law; it is a non-profit enterprise. The main objectives of the association are to popularize domestic and overseas trading business, to advance economic development, to coordinate relationships in the same trade and to promote mutual benefit. Most of the members are small and middle-sized importers that act as agents of various instruments. There are also a few manufacturers. And most of the members have companies situated in Taipei or Northern Taiwan; companies of the others are situated throughout Taiwan.
There are one chairman, four executive directors, ten directors, one executive supervisor, four supervisors, five alternate directors and one alternate supervisor in the association. A meeting of directors and supervisors is held once two month. And a conference of all members is held once a year. Directors and supervisors are reelected every three years periodically, and a chairman is elected from executive directors. The president currently in office is Mr. Wrango Lai.
Since 1980, we sponsor an instruments show every three years. All directors, supervisors, alternate directors and supervisors at that time would act as preparatory committees; they are responsible for all arrangements of the show. On the other hand, the chairman then would serve as the director of committees and two former chairmen would act as vice directors. The instruments shows that we sponsor periodically are specialized instruments shows with longest history and greatest scope.
Internet has become a tendency in the progress of information technology. To serve members, we have set up a website in 1997 officially. We hope that through the website, in the most economical way, members can display their products all year round limitlessly. At the same time, it helps members to obtain greatest business opportunities by being a best channel for foreign manufacturers seeking for local brokers. From now on, the association will keep on maintaining our original objectives and service consciousness, do our best to act as the connection between the government and companies, strengthen communications in instrument-related organizations around the world and endeavor after biggest benefits and rights for our members.
